NAME: Dawn Teresa Glenville

BORN: Coventry 09-01-56

STAR SIGN: Capricorn

SCHOOL: Cardinal Wiseman School for Girls. Dawn was awarded the Duke of Edinburgh's GOLD AWARD in 1974

FIRST BAND: The Singing Glenvilles. Dawn trained as a singer and dancer with her sisters from the age of 7, and became a Champion Irish Dancer at the age of 10.First appeared in a production of THE OCTOPLUS and played Hansell in HANSELL & GRETAL both at the Butts College, Coventry.

MUSICAL INFLUENCES: Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday, Peggy Lee, BB King, Lisa Minnelli and enjoys the music of West End and Broadway productions. Met Barry in 1975 and joined the band in 1977 aged 21.

Dawn comes from a family of several sisters. With Irish parents they had another Nolans in the making as
They all had a talent for singing and dancing. When in 1977 Barry suggested that she join him on stage in a new look band he was putting together she agreed on the understanding that she bring her sister Carol along with her. Dawn and Carol were together in Smackee for the best part of a decade when Carol decided to leave in order to get married and settle down.

Over the years Dawns contribution to Smackee has grown and grown, as has her confidence and stature on stage. Her voice has also matured and become more powerful and versatile allowing her to tackle a wide variety of songs and personas…which has proved invaluable when Smackee tackle more and more songs from "the Shows". Dawn is the heart of Smackee and provides much of the glitz and glamour in their shows. Like Barry, Dawn is very pains-taking about stage costumes and appearance all helping make Smackee shows the spectacle they are.

HOBBIES: Golf, Horse riding, Jogging, Swimming, Keeping Fit in the gym and going on long walks with her 2 doggies Monty and Bugsy….oh, and Barry as well. Barry's the one on the lead!
Dawn loves dancing, and is a fully qualified Aerobics Instructor. She returned to college in 1994 and qualified as a Sports Therapist, Aromatherapist, Reflexologist, and as a Beauty Therapist over the following four years. Started playing golf in 1999 and is a member of Hinckley Golf Club. She now has a handicap of 20 and is a proud member of the Silver Division and represents the club throughout the Midlands.

Dawn, who is also a vegetarian, likes to cook on her evenings off, and consume large quantities of red wine!
