Laura has always had a passion for performing and began dance classes when she was just 3 years old. At the age of 10 she had the opportunity to perform in ‘The Snowman’ at the Haymarket Theatre, Leicester. After this experience she began to study the Flute, Saxophone and Singing alongside her dancing. She then continued her education by gaining a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts and during this time she enjoyed being part of the SWM Theatre Company and taking part in several productions.
Laura then became a Bluecoat at the Pontins in Plemont Bay, Jersey and decided she wanted to further her training. So she enrolled at the London College of Dance for 3 years where she gained a BA Honours Degree in Dance. After this, Laura began her career as a professional performer as a dancer/singer in summer season at the Bridlington Spa Theatre. She then went on to dance for MSC and Celebrity Cruises sailing the world. But after 3 years she decided to return home and took on the role as Cinderella for DTE Productions and soon after she met Barry Walker.
Laura was thrilled to perform as maternity cover for Margaret and was chosen as a full time band member in 2007 when Margaret retired to become a full time Mum. Laura now hopes that her singing will go from strength to strength and is very excited to a part of three touring production shows with the band.
HOBBIES - Laura also teaches dance at the Anne Elizabeth School of Dance, teaching students from the age of 3 to 30. She also still enjoys acting where she recently appeared in Casualty and Torchwood for the BBC and also performs as a suspect for Murder Mystery evenings.
When Laura has the time she enjoys reading, socialising with her family and friends, learning French and swimming. And she is very much looking forward to getting married in the summer of 08. If there was an Olympic games for sleeping, Laura would have a Gold medal as this is her favourite past time.
